Upscale, Romantic Wedding Inspiration from the W Hotel

Styled Shoots are a wonderful opportunity to partner with my favorite vendors, venues, and couples to create beautiful and inspirational work for our future couples. For this shoot, I partnered with The W Hotel in Downtown Nashville to create a unique branding shoot to tantalize couples with the how they could use a modern, richly textured space and bring in light, romantic, and classic elements for an unforgettable celebration. I began the creative journey with a site visit to the impressive W Hotel to gather inspiration and a direction for the shoot. When I say this place is extraordinary, I mean it– it’s a breathtaking venue to start your happily ever after. Modern, clean lines combine with sensuous, rich decor elements to give a feeling of elegance, refinement, and a totally upscale vibe. At our initial planning meeting, I drew inspiration from the dark, bold statement pieces around the hotel. I wanted to contrast those deep and dramatic tones with warm florals and fabric to bring a romantic “softness” to the W Hotel that still maintained modern lines and contemporary styling. Let’s check out all the details of this gorgeous shoot, shall we? Special thanks to Holcomb + Co for the gorgeous images you see throughout.

A perfect wedding needs perfect paper goods, so we partnered with White Ink Calligraphy on these classic letterpress invitations. White stock was pressed with a taupe-pink ink, and that was contrasted to the taupe envelopes with black hand-lettered calligraphy.

The invitations were perfectly coordinated with vintage stamps to create a classic, whimsical look. To style these invitations, elements of fresh florals (garden roses, jasmine, spray roses, ranunculus, and Queen Anne’s lace) were paired with swatches of silk ribbon, delicate hair pins, and pearl bead lengths. I love the peek-a-boo liners in the envelopes and the delicately detailed wax seal.

Is there anything more romantic than a downtown Nashville roof ceremony? I don’t think so! A green grass carpeted aisle was embellished with fresh floral arrangements with greenery, sweet-scented Jasmine, fresh and open roses in taupes and white, fragrant stock, and delicate ranunculus. The soft tones of the blooms made the verdant green of the grass shine and the golden chairs and golden ceremony backgroup all the more resplendant. We just adore the gold spired backdrop with wood accents from Blue Fish Event Rentals

Our Model bride was styled by Luxe Bridal Nashville with hair and makeup by Glam. Her bouquet reflected the color story of soft whites, pinks, taupes and greens in a naturally composed bouquet. Don’t the dress, earrings, and the backdrop combine to create a stunning and unforgettable look?

Our Model groom is wearing a tuxedo by the Black Tux and I created a very unique and modern boutonnière for him to wear. Who says a bout needs to be a small, understated piece when you can go glam with this detailed, serpentine creation I made to stand out. Delicate greenery was paired with soft and textured blooms that screamed “modern statement piece!”

We spent a little time at the W Bar to capture some of those dark, moody details from the venue along with our modern, romantic groom in his classic tuxedo before heading out to the ceremony space to pair up this dynamic duo.

After grabbing some gorgeous shots of our couple, we headed inside for the reception. Quest Events fulfilled our draping and chandelier dreams with this modern and elegant criss-crossed backdrop in taupes and ivories. The table was delicately set upon a linen that reflected the details of the bride’s gown from Nuage Designs, rentals from Please Be Seated, specialty candles from Feather and Oak, and gorgeous glassware from Estelle Colored Glass. Working with our choice vendors, I created romantic, modern arrangements with textured, delicate greens and soft-hued, seasonal blooms in low, footed urns. Each guest’s space was accented with a gorgeous charger embellished with paper goods from White Ink Calligraphy: a detailed menu with a an adorable tassel and a place card that echoed the sentiment of celebration in a festive champagne coupe.

The delicate lines of the drape paired beautifully with the textured lace table linen, gold flatware, and seasonal blooms.

A touch of fresh greenery and fragrant jasmine brought these chandeliers from Quest to life.

This truly was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to showcase one of my favorite venues and my favorite vendors. We wrapped up the shoot with some team photos and some romantic elevator shots. I can’t wait for our next event at the W. For more, check out this classic and beautiful video by Ives Albert
